I am interested in questions concerning urban agriculture and weeds. My current research program includes monitoring and documenting the genetic and phenotypic makeup of invasive and exotic plant species in metropolitan Atlanta. This work couples climate research and weather patterns to model invasive plant establishment.

Additional work lies in areas of best management practices for urban food gardens, sustainable, metropolitan food production, and food toxicology/ecology of Southern crops/farms. I am also engaged in science education and pedagogical development/research at Emory University. This research and outreach has culminated in developing different approaches to teaching science to undergraduate and graduate students.
