Nancy is a lab tech in the Gerardo lab. She is passionate about bringing science to new audiences, and is working on a project to increase cultural diversity and educational outreach at biological field stations. In her spare time, she creates interdisciplinary art and science projects to teach science in new ways, and is a scientific illustrator. She is interested in insect and plant interactions, especially plant galls and gall communities. Right is a painting by Nancy of Acalypta duryi, a tiny lace bug that eats moss.
